It all began over a century and a half ago, in the heart of Old Delhi, Daryaganj. Famous for its bustling spice markets and legendary kitchens, this historic neighbourhood was where our family’s culinary journey first took root. At its heart was Khushal Chand, our ancestor, whose mastery of spice blending and carefully guarded recipes were whispered across generations, measured by instinct, and perfected through tradition.

Delhi itself shaped this legacy. As the seat of the Mughal empire, the city became a canvas for culinary artistry—where rich gravies, aromatic biryanis, and layered flavours were perfected in royal courts. Yet Delhi’s food was never only about royalty. Its vibrant bazaars and strategic position along historic trade routes turned it into a true melting pot of flavours, where Persian finesse, Central Asian techniques, and the hearty traditions of Punjab and Rajasthan came together seamlessly. This constant exchange of cultures and spices made Delhi’s cuisine one of the most diverse and celebrated in the world.

In this melting pot of flavours, Khushal Chand stood out for his discerning palate and deep love for food. In the vibrant lanes of Daryaganj, he became part of Delhi’s rich culinary circles, where iconic eateries, celebrated chefs, and seasoned spice traders shared their craft and secrets. His passion for flavour and respect for tradition laid the foundation of our family’s inheritance. Through his refined taste and connections, timeless recipes and spice blends were gathered, preserved, and passed down with pride—becoming treasures within our household for generations.
